GoPro updates line of high definition helmet cams.

Since GoPro launched its original HD Hero helmet/dash cam back in 2009 it’s become a “must-have” accessory for many extreme and motorsports enthusiasts. Now, GoPro has updated its line of high definition helmet cams. The new HD Hero2 comes in three extreme sports configurations: outdoor, motorsports, and surf.

The HD Hero2 is twice as powerful as its predecessor and captures moving footage in 1080p 16:9 format. The Hero2 will be compatible with existing accessories.

It can be set up in narrow (90-degree), wide (170-degree) and medium (127-degree) angles, and can snap up to ten 11 megapixel photos per second. To share your footage the camera has a mini-HDMI port, USB, HERO and SD card capability. The previous menu system has been updated to a better user-friendly set-up. Upgrades for the Hero2 camera also include a WiFi BacPac which will let users control the camera from your phone, tablet or computer and instantly stream footage.
