Small Business Associations Urge Lawmakers Not To Block New Debit-Interchange Rules

Warning lawmakers that banking lobbyists who are urging congress to block the Federal Reserve Board plans for new debit-interchange rules and excessive fees will continue to hurt small businesses and their employees, the National Retailers Association urged members of Congress in a Feb. 6 letter not to "intervene" to block the rule's implementation.

Small business owners have been fighting over “runaway” credit and debit card fees charged by Visa and MasterCard and the top ten banks for accepting cards for more than a decade.
