sUgAR Gallery exhibition: Leaving a mark: en el barro/Dejando la marca: in clay

Please join us in celebrating the ceramic work produced by eleven local
teens in the exhibition Leaving a mark: en el barro/Dejando la marca: in
clay.

A collaborative workshop led by Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the
Boys and Girls Club of Benton County and the University of Arkansas
Department of Art has enabled these teens to make their mark while
responding to the centuries-old ceramics and contemporary ollas featured in

Transforming Tradition: The Pottery of Mata Ortíz, currently on display at
Crystal Bridges at the Massey.

The finished art works will be on display August 6th-September 18th, 2010 at
sUgAR Gallery, located at 114 W. Central Avenue just off the
Bentonville Square. Mark your calendar now for the Artists Reception on
Friday, August 27, 5 – 8 p.m.

Our thanks to the Bentonville Convention and Visitors Bureau and Table Mesa
restaurant for co-sponsoring the exhibition. Additional thanks to Acambaro
Restaurant, El Pueblo Market #2 and Pupuseria Salvadorena #2. Transforming
Tradition: The Pottery of Mata Ortíz organized by The Field Museum in
Chicago. Photography by Amjad Faur.
