Starbucks reusable-cup contest winner is less cup, more concept

The team that won the Starbucks-sponsored Betacup Challenge offered a low-tech solution to the problem of disposable cup litter, and took a distinctly pay-it-forward philosophy. The simple "Karma Cup" concept has baristas making a chalk mark each time a customer comes in with a reusable cup. The lucky 10th customer with his own mug would get free coffee. The team wins a $10,000 prize, but it's not clear yet whether Starbucks plans to implement the program.
